« Wine is the fruit of the union between the sky, the soil and man » our parents said. Today our objective is to combine tradition and innovation in order to elaborate characteristic wines which conserve however all the authenticity of the appellation and the personality of each vintage.

A storeroom installed with outstanding equipment which is continually renewed enables the quality of the wines to be optimised. Thermostat controlled vats in stainless steel ensure precision and rigour for the control of the vinification of the white wines. The Marsanne gives out flowery aromas following fermentation at low temperature. The wine is matured in casks on lees which gives it a woody taste melting into an atmosphere of freshness.

The vats for red wines are adapted to the different vintages. Short fermentation in stainless steel auto-pressing vats gives fruity lively wines like the Vin de Pays. Long fermentation in traditional vats offers the Syrah the opportunity to express all its qualities. An optimal extraction harmonises the generous aromas of blackcurrant and spices and the richness of the tannins of the Crozes-Hermitage.

The Cuvée des Pionniers is matured in oak casks “The founders of the Cave des Clairmonts, Joseph BORJA and Léon Defrance could be proud of the Cuvée des Pionniers created in 1992 in celebration of the winery’s 20th anniversary. A great tribute paid by this wine which is persistent, harmonious, fat and well-balanced.” Hachette wine guide 2004.
